It’s our last show before summer break so we will not be publishing an insider or an email news letter next week. Erik announced this week that he and his family are moving to Florida to be closer to family, so best of luck in that move and we’ll see all of us back in a couple of weeks! In this week’s insider we take a deeper look at the 2026 F1 schedule and wonder why they would schedule a race that competes with TV ratings in the USA against the Indianapolis 500.

2026 F1 Schedule, F1 Vs Indy 500 TV Ratings, NASCAR Storylines | Garage Talk
This week’s episode is kind of short because if you can’t tell from the box behind him, Erik is moving from Michigan to Florida! He goes over what brought that up. We’re also taking next week off since D.J. will be out of town and Erik is moving so its our “Summer Break”.
The bulk of the show today is dedicated to looking over the 2026 Formula 1 schedule and the big item of note is Monaco is moved to mid-June and F1 will be taking on last part of the Indianapolis 500 directly in television ratings. With Indy 500 TV ratings on the rise again and still considered a mega event in the United States is this move smart? Is it just arrogance thinking they can take on the US’s largest motorsports event in TV ratings?
On the second half of the show, we recap NASCAR at Michigan, the excessive use of the John Fogerty guitar riff every time they come back from commercial, and the storylines coming up as NASCAR heads to Mexico for the first time in many years, IndyCar heads to Gateway, F1 heads to Canada, and we have the Le Mans 24 hour race all in one weekend! Oh and because of traveling and moving Erik and D.J. won’t have time to watch any of those!

Recent Race Results
Race: iRacing Daytona 24
Results: Erik Richardson, Hunter Hughes, Ian Miller, and Tyler Vickery ran in the GTP/Hypercar class for the first time in the Ferrari 499P. The real stars of the show was the rain and the new dynamic track debris system that created chaos all over the track. Numerous accidents led to a P9 in class (of 21) and P33 overall (of 58). We look to bounce back stronger at Sebring in March.
