This week we brought in our first guest on F-R Racing’s Garage Talk. We sit down with Wednesday Night Dash series leader and iRacing driver, Kaden McAreavy Jr and talk a little about NASCAR, how he got into iRacing, and the keys to his successful season so far on Wednesday Night Dash.
Episode 7 – Hanging with iRacing Driver Kaden McAreavy Jr
Today we’re joined by the Wednesday Night Dash series leader and iRacing driver, Kaden McAreavy Jr. First, we talk about Kaden’s dominant run of five podiums in six races including two wins, and the strategy behind his preparation before the race.
Next, we discuss the upcoming season of F1, the influence of “Drive to Survive” then move on to NASCAR and talk about the weird on-track incident between Brad Keselowski and Austin Dillon and finally move on to IndyCar. The discussion expands into how while the quality of the broadcast on Peacock was good, did NBC/IndyCar hurt their chances of growing the sport? Is streaming races exclusively on a paid service really the right move right now?
Finally, we close the show by discussing last week’s Wednesday Night Dash at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park and the challenges of racing on the famous short track. The challenges the drivers ran into led us to change next week’s race from dirt to pavement at Bristol and we talk about the thought process behind that.
