iRacing Streaming Review – GT Podcast

F-R Racing's Garage Talk iRacing Podcast Logo

September 15th was the one-year anniversary of our first attempt at iRacing streaming on Twitch. Be sure to check out the replay on YouTube (spoiler alert: it was really bad) and hit subscribe! We thought it would be fun this week to go back and watch some of the “highlights” from our first stream that was eventually coined “Wednesday Night Dash” and evolved into our awesome league that started six months later in March of 2022.

One Year Anniversary of Wednesday Night Dash and iRacing Streaming

Can you believe we’ve been iRacing streaming for a year?  Our stream was originally inspired by the iRacing Dallara Dash series, but using different cars has gone from Erik and D.J. racing by themselves each week to a league with 15 drivers, broadcasted on Stadium Scene TV, and a prize purse.  For this episode, we start off with the race recap of the Wednesday Night Dash iRacing League ARCA series at Mid Ohio Sports Car Course and the bad night for Team F-R Racing.

We briefly look ahead to next week’s race at Talladega before moving on to discussing the week in NASCAR and Formula 1’s schedule release.  Moving into the final segment, we close out by watching some of the highlights of our first Wednesday Night Dash from September 15, 2021.  We raced Dallara DW12 Indy Cars at Charlotte Motor Speedway and Erik had just received his racing wheel earlier that day.  Finally, we talk about how his calibration settings were so awful that he couldn’t race.  It took a two-hour screen share session and tampering with iRacing settings under the hood to get it working.
