F-R Racing is proud to announce a new open wheel league that will run on Tuesday nights. It is “Behind Closed Doors!” We were really looking forward to running the IR-18 in the Wednesday Night Dash series. As we neared the new year, iRacing and IndyCar did not renew their license agreement. With this, we would have been unable to broadcast races and made the decision to go ahead and run with the Nascar NextGen. Hopefully the close racing that we have seen in “WND” will continue in the “BCD” series!
“BCD” Series iRacing League
The series will have a few changes from that of WND. We may also pilot some possible changes to WND in the new series. For the most part, the two series will run a similar format. Practice will run for 10 minutes and then feature a 2-lap qualifying effort on oval tracks. Road courses will have a 15 minute open qualifying period. All cars will be a fixed set-up except for any in-car adjustments a driver wishes to make. The green flag will drop approximately at 10:17pm est. on Tuesday nights. There will be two differences in the new series.
The first change will regard caution flags. BCD will not have a competition caution or stage racing caution. Depending on the racing, there may not be a caution flag thrown. If iRacing would determine an incident should warrant a caution, the system itself will show yellow. This will be similar to ranked races in the Class C and higher races in the game.
The second change is regarding entry fee and prize payout. It is only a $10 entry for the 10-race season. Prizes will only come at the end of the season. Total prize package will depend on the number of entries for the season. Prize packs may include cash and/or sponsor swag.
We are looking forward to racing on a variety of tracks in an open wheel series. There will be seven ovals and three road courses. Be on the lookout for upcoming recruiting races!
