2023 Indy 500 Recap – GT Podcast

F-R Racing's Garage Talk Logo

We found Taka Timmerman after his globe-trotting to Seattle and Japan! Taka is back with Erik and D.J. as we do our 2023 Indy 500 recap, touch on the F1 Monaco Grand Prix, look at a wet weekend in Charlotte for NASCAR, and talk about our iRacing struggles in the GT3 class.

2023 Indy 500 Recap, Rain in Charlotte, iRacing GT3 Struggles

Taka is back from Japan and joins Erik and D.J. for an all-new episode of F-R Racing’s Garage Talk! We spend the bulk of the time this week breaking down the Garage Talk LIVE Raceday from over the weekend, first with a brief recap of the Monaco Grand Prix. We move on to the Indianapolis 500.

During that discussion, we talk about how the first half of the race was pretty uneventful outside of Graham Rahal’s car not firing. After Sting Ray Robb crashed out, things got crazy with three red flags and a controversial ending where the race was flagged with two laps to go followed by a partial yellow flag lap and green and white flags at the same time. We discuss why that happened, how that possibly could have been avoided, and what IndyCar can do to make sure something like that doesn’t happen again.

Finally, before we wrap the episode, we talk about our struggles during this season’s Wednesday Night Dash GT3 league. We also discuss a little bit about the ending of the Behind Closed Doors IndyCar IR-18 season, and what’s next for Wednesday Night Dash.

Be sure to enter our contest for a chance to win a free autographed diecast from Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Contest ends on June 28th.
