Erik and D.J. are back this week talking about the week in racing which centers around the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Could it be the last year for the IndyCar/NASCAR double weekend? Will we see the return of the NASCAR Indy Oval race?
IndyCar and NASCAR at Indianapolis, iRacing League Racing, NASCAR Indy Oval Discussion
Erik and D.J. are back this week with an all new episode of F-R Racing’s Garage Talk! In this week’s episode we talk about week 2 of the iRacing Behind Closed Doors Dallara IR-18 Series and D.J. making an appearance during the Iowa Speedway race. We talk about Erik’s dominant day, D.J.’s podium despite his mediocre day, and we talk turn 3 and 4 strategy.
Next, we move on and talk about Michael McDowell’s big win in the NASCAR race, Scott Dixon’s win and Graham Rahal almost catching him, and the struggle of International Drivers (outside of SVG) at the Cup Series Race.
Finally, we move onto the rumor that NASCAR will be returning to the oval at Indianapolis next year. An important step to having a successful event is to fill the stands and looking at attendance over the weekend it wasn’t great. Why not offer cheap tickets to next year’s race? What would be better, selling 0 tickets that are priced $60-100 or selling 100,000-150,000 tickets at $10, $15, or $20 a piece? Bring Indy 500 like numbers to a NASCAR race and the sponsors will be lining up at the door.
