Brainstorming a New iRacing League – F-R Racing Insider

GT 125 - Brainstorming a new iRacing League

Welcome to this week’s F-R Racing Insider! This week we recap two iRacing league races and on F-R Racing’s Garage Talk Erik and D.J. discuss the NASCAR race in Las Vegas, the rainy season opener for Formula 1, and we brainstorm out loud our ideas for our new iRacing league we are working on.

NASCAR In Vegas, F1 in Australia, Brainstorming a New iRacing League | F-R Racing’s Garage Talk

On this week’s episode of F-R Racing’s Garage Talk, Erik and D.J. start off going off topic looking at concerts and a surprise throwback name on the 2025 Lollapalooza schedule. Once they get back on topic, it was time to recap the NASCAR weekend in Las Vegas and the rainy chaos of the Formula 1 opening round in Australia. Is Kimi Antonelli the real deal?

Next, we discuss our week in iRacing including D.J.’s unexpected return to the broadcast booth, Erik getting hosed by a software glitch, and the penalty flag that ruined Erik’s Wednesday Night Dash.

Finally, we are talking about bringing out a new iRacing NASCAR themed development league for new and inexperienced drivers to work with each other and build up their race craft to better compete in Wednesday Night Dash. You can hear our process out loud as we go through eligibility, and even the name.

As an added bonus, we look at ways that NASCAR’s Cup Series can become the Winston Cup again without it being a reference to the previous company (since legally that can’t happen). We may have found a solution.

Recent Race Results

Race: iRacing Daytona 24

Results: Erik Richardson, Hunter Hughes, Ian Miller, and Tyler Vickery ran in the GTP/Hypercar class for the first time in the Ferrari 499P. The real stars of the show was the rain and the new dynamic track debris system that created chaos all over the track. Numerous accidents led to a P9 in class (of 21) and P33 overall (of 58). We look to bounce back stronger at Sebring in March.
