2025 Indy 500 Recap – F-R Racing Insider

2025 Indy 500 Recap - GT Podcast

We dedicated almost an entire show to the 2025 Indy 500 recap. It was one of the stranger ones in recent history and there was a lot to talk about. The helicopter flyover, the rain, crashes, pit road mishaps, aggressive driving, and more. We go over it all on Garage Talk.

2025 Indy 500 Recap, F1 Monaco Parade, Amazon Prime NASCAR | Garage Talk

On this week’s episode of F-R Racing’s Garage Talk, we give a brief mention to the F1 Monaco “race”, because that’s all it deserves, one of the weirder Indy 500’s we’ve ever seen, and the first NASCAR race on Amazon Prime Video. First up, we talk about the F1 Monaco Grand Prix and as expected it was a parade with no on track passing, and the required two pit stop strategy didn’t work out.

Next, and the bulk of the show we talk about the Indianapolis 500 from the pre-race helicopter flyover, Scott McLaughin’s pace lap crash warming his tires, numerous incidents on pit road, timing and scoring issues at the track, and the botched coverage of the finish.

Finally, we talk about the Coca Cola 600 and Amazon Prime Video’s approach to covering the event and how it varied tremendously from what FOX did. Are we going to be spoiled by the month of race coverage?

Recent Race Results

Race: iRacing Daytona 24

Results: Erik Richardson, Hunter Hughes, Ian Miller, and Tyler Vickery ran in the GTP/Hypercar class for the first time in the Ferrari 499P. The real stars of the show was the rain and the new dynamic track debris system that created chaos all over the track. Numerous accidents led to a P9 in class (of 21) and P33 overall (of 58). We look to bounce back stronger at Sebring in March.
