Chicago Street Race Recap – GT Podcast

F-R Racing's Garage Talk Logo

Erik and D.J. are back with another F-R Racing’s Garage Talk episode! In this week’s episode we quickly cycle through the track limits issue at Red Bull Ring, talk about Alex Palou’s big day at Mid Ohio, and spend the bulk of the time recapping the crazy weekend in Chicago for NASCAR.

Chicago Street Race Recap, Track Limits, Mid-Ohio

We broke the 3000 all-time podcast listens threshold last week. Thank you again for all your support of F-R Racing and F-R Racing’s Garage Talk. When we decided to release a podcast casually talking about auto racing and our iRacing experiences we had zero expectations that anyone would listen.

This week we kick off the show by talking about the drama at the Red Bull Ring and how there was a significant issue with drivers and track limits. Is it the driver’s fault or does part of the course need to be changed?

Over in IndyCar, Alex Palou is turning the season into a one-man show like Max Verstappen has in Formula One. Rookie Benjamin Pedersen upset numerous drivers even the most happy-go-lucky driver in the series, David Malukas.

Finally, we spend most of the episode discussing the Chicago Street Race in NASCAR. Mother Nature did not want to cooperate at all, but we still got most of the racing in over the weekend. The biggest surprise was Shane Van Gisbergen, Supercars Champion from Australia making a name for himself by winning the Cup Series race in his NASCAR debut. We break down how big of a deal that actually was and the challenges SVG went through to adapt to NASCAR versus Australian Supercars.
