I Beat Your Favorite Driver. All of Them – GT Podcast

I beat your favorite driver. All of them.

Erik and D.J. are back and we talk about Denny Hamlin’s win at Bristol followed by his mic drop quote. “I beat your favorite driver. All of them.” That and the week in IndyCar, Formula 1, and our two iRacing leagues (Behind Closed Doors IR-18 League and Wednesday Night Dash).

“I beat your favorite driver. All of them.”, F1 at Singapore Finish, iRacing Lessons Learned

Thank you again for listening to F-R Racing’s Garage Talk! This week we start out talking about the Bristol night race and how Denny Hamlin has taken on the role of “NASCAR Villain” this season. It’s clear he’s enjoying and embracing the role with this “I beat your favorite driver. All of them.” line.

Next, we briefly touch on the world of IndyCar now that the offseason is underway and how most of the driver field is set for next year. We spend time talking Formula 1 and the “rare struggles” for Red Bull with both cars missing Q3 and Max missing the podium for the first time all season.

Finally, we close out the episode recapping the week in iRacing with Behind Closed Doors at Phoenix Raceway and Wednesday Night Dash at Chicagoland Speedway. D.J. discusses his improvements and the first time he feels he raced aggressively, which ultimately ended in a crash of his own doing and ending his night early. Erik talks about his changing strategy on the fly and how it almost put him into a podium position had he maybe had a few more laps.
