Bristol Tire Saga – GT Podcast

Garage Talk - Bristol Tire Saga and more

Now that we’ve had some time to digest the Goodyear Bristol tire saga in the NASCAR Cup Series race, we decided to re-visit the topic in this week’s Garage Talk. In addition, Erik and D.J. break down the end of the Wednesday Night Dash series, D.J.’s crash in the season finale, and his desperate pit strategy gamble to try to gain positions late in race running on very old tires (spoiler: didn’t work).

WND Season Recap, Bristol Tire Saga, Australian GP, Thermal Club, and COTA Previews

Erik is on the road this week and missed Wednesday Night Dash, but D.J. recaps how what started off as a promising evening at Kansas Speedway ended up in a big wreck and ended his chances at a top three season finish. We also recap how the season went and congratulate back to back Cup Series champion, Colton Gardner on his dominating performance.

Next we move on and discuss the tires at the NASCAR Bristol race last weekend. How did the drivers feel about the Bristol tire saga? Was that the best short track race NASCAR has had in a long time? What needs to change if anything?

Finally, we do quick previews of the upcoming Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix, IndyCar’s $1 million dollar challenge at the Thermal Club, and NASCAR making its annual visit to Circuit of the Americas. That and a little bit of TV deal discussion, and some March Madness mixed in. Tune in Sunday morning at midnight for F-R Racing’s Garage Talk: LIVE Raceday as we watch along with the Australian Grand Prix. Swing by the discord, and chat along with us!
