We’re back with episode 99 of F-R Racing’s Garage Talk and this week we look at IndyCar on Peacock with the Peacock exclusive race at Toronto, how the ratings weren’t mentioned (because they were likely terrible), and the future of streaming platforms. That plus more F1 drama and Erik visiting the Brickyard 400 for the return of NASCAR on the Indianapolis oval.
Yes, More F1 Drama, IndyCar on Peacock, Erik Visits The Brickyard
On the 99th episode of F-R Racing’s Garage Talk, we discuss the latest drama in Formula 1 (again). It’s funny how the soap opera that is Drive to Survive has really spilled over onto the track. Max is upset at his team, Lando is mad at his team, Carlos Sainz still doesn’t have a job next year, you name it.
We briefly discuss the Toronto IndyCar race exclusively on Peacock and how they aren’t publishing numbers for viewers because it’s likely very low. We touch on a few highlights from the race and Honda’s dominance.
Finally, we recap the return to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval! Erik was in attendance and shares his experiences at the track. We also break down the controversial finish to the race.
On this week’s episode of F-R Racing’s Garage Talk, we discuss D.J.’s travel issues that prevented the show from being made last week and some off-topic college stories. We break down the debut of the IndyCar hybrid engine now that we’ve seen it on both a road course and an oval for the first time and show off some Brickyard 400 memorabilia as we preview the upcoming return to the oval for both the NASCAR Cup Series and Xfinity Series.

F-R Racing’s GT Sprint Series
We run a monthly community race in preparation for the various iRacing official events. Stay tuned for the publishing of the final schedule, but the next event will be on May 11th. Most events will be a 15-minute open qualification with a 45-minute sprint session (some are 90 minutes). The events are broadcast on Stadium Scene TV, but are more of a casual environment and will not be scored as an official league.
