Garage Talk – Building a Sim Racing Team With John Miles of JM Motorsports, NASCAR Clash Recap
On this week’s Garage Talk, we hang out with John Miles. John owns JM Motorsports, and races with us on Wednesday Night Dash and other events.
We talk to him about the process of building a sim racing team. First up, John is a college student at the University of Missouri so we discuss how he balances iRacing with college and other activities. Side note: if Erik and D.J. had iRacing back in college, things probably would have not gone well.
John goes into his process of how he built his team originally with his childhood best friend Jax Malan and the interesting place where they met Lane Snow. Next, we talk about the challenges of finding sponsors for an esports/sim racing team. John has managed to secure some sponsorships of large companies through meeting with local locations.
Finally, we close out the show talking about the NASCAR Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium. How was the clash? Was it better than LA? Should they go back there next year?

Recent Race Results
Race: iRacing Daytona 24
Results: Erik Richardson, Hunter Hughes, Ian Miller, and Tyler Vickery ran in the GTP/Hypercar class for the first time in the Ferrari 499P. The real stars of the show was the rain and the new dynamic track debris system that created chaos all over the track. Numerous accidents led to a P9 in class (of 21) and P33 overall (of 58). We look to bounce back stronger at Sebring in March.
